The MongolZ qualified for the ESL Challenger at DreamHack Jönköping 2024

The MongolZ secured their spot in the ESL Challenger at DreamHack Jönköping 2024, set to take place in Sweden from June 14th to 16th.

This achievement came after they emerged victorious in the Asian Closed Qualifiers alongside Lynn Vision Gaming, LYG Gaming, and ATOX Esports (Mongolian team). Now The MongolZ qualified for the ESL Challenger at DreamHack Jönköping 2024.


The tournament format for the ESL Challenger at DreamHack Jönköping 2024 includes a group stage featuring two double-elimination GSL groups, each consisting of four teams. Matches vary in format, with opening and winners' matches being Best of 1 (Bo1) and elimination and decider matches being Best of 3 (Bo3). The top two teams from each group will advance to the playoffs, following a single-elimination bracket format, with all matches being Bo3. The prize pool for the ESL Challenger at DreamHack Jönköping 2024 totals $100,000, and the winning team will secure qualification for ESL Pro League S20.

Significant milestones have marked the MongolZ's journey to the top. At the first Major in Copenhagen, Denmark, they represented the Asia-Pacific region. Their victory over Brazil's team 'Legacy' with a score of 2-0 was a historic moment, securing their place in the Elimination Stage of the Major for the first time.

 

The MongolZ's participation in the Major was a turning point for the team and the Asia-Pacific region. It was their fourth appearance, but this time, they surpassed the Opening stage, marking a significant achievement. Their stellar performance elevated not only their own standing but also the region's ranking. Their success paved the way for three more slots from the region to qualify for the Major in Shanghai, solidifying their influence and success in the region.


The ESL World Ranking reflects The MongolZ's dominance in the Asia region, with the team leading with a total of 180 points, a significant portion earned from their success at the PGL Copenhagen 2024 Major.
