Ranked 11th in the world, The MongolZ have been newly added to the Elisa Masters Espoo 2024 lineup, making them the third top-30 team to receive an invitation, alongside 9z and ENCE. The other teams, B8 and the home team JANO will also be participating, having secured their spots by winning the Elisa Invitational Spring and Elisa eSM, respectively, leaving only three remaining slots.
"Garidmagnai ''bLitz" Byambasuren and his team finished last season within the top ten of the world rankings after their victory at YaLLa Compass 2024, but they’ve struggled to maintain that momentum post-break. They suffered an unexpected defeat to 3DMAX in the Skyesports Championship final; despite overcoming Eternal Fire and Spirit, they were likely disappointed by a 9th-12th place finish at IEM Cologne following losses to paiN and SAW. The MongolZ have ESL Pro League Season 20 and IEM Rio on their schedule before Elisa Masters, with the grand final in Rio set just three days before the tournament begins in Espoo Finland on October 16.
Three more teams are expected to be invited to the Finnish event, with the final spot reserved for the winner of the Elisa Invitational Fall, which began this week with the group stage.
